Decorative Vinyl Wall Decals started surfacing as a product about 10 years ago. It is a product that is available predominately online and not so much in brick and mortar retailers. This is because an average wall decal seller may make over 1000 different designs which make retailing them very difficult. The market for these products has been growing consistently since their inception yet the majority of consumers still seem to be unaware of these unique decorating items. Wall arts come in a variety of styles and designs. The most popular form appears to be in the area of quotes. So what does apply mean in regard to the decal? The decal typically arrives at the consumer adhered to a backing paper and covered with a layer of transfer tape. I say typically as not all wall decal sellers deliver their products in that manner. Some companies don’t install the transfer tape and worse yet, don’t even provide it. This can make it nearly impossible to install. That is a topic I will cover in another article on another day, so for now, let’s just assume the wall art was delivered ready to install.

The installation consists of a few steps.

1. Remove the backing paper from the wall art leaving it adhered to the transfer tape.
2. Place the sticky side of the wall decal and transfer tape on the surface where you want to apply it.
3. Rub the whole unit on the wall paying special attention to the vinyl areas.
4. Slowly peel back the transfer tape removing it from the wall and the decal.
5. Step back and enjoy your new artwork.

This is a somewhat simplified overview of the installation process, but it really is a very simple process. Most of the time installing a wall decal takes under ten minutes and yet can last essentially forever. It is a wonderful investment in your decor.
